    1. Does that mean Tesla has more than 1 trillion net?

Edit: Just double checked, it’s currently at 1.34T. Could you even liquidate this amount realistically?

It’s a package in which he gets paid over a ten year period and only if he meets a series of extraordinary goals.

    3. LaPetiteMortOrale on

While it is repulsive that any one should ever be worth $1T, this post is highly misleading.

He did not get a $1T paycheck and there are significant milestones associated with this.

    4. The good this is that he has so many children, let’s hope a few of them will be able to inherit and do something good with it.

    5. Hoosier_Daddy68 on

No way does he meet all the criteria for the entire package. It gives him bragging rights and that’s all he really wants.

    6. Amazon pays $23 per hr, or about $45k per year. Try living on that before taxes and a $1,500-$2,000 monthly rent. RIGHT.

No one person should be allowed to accumulate a billion fucking dollars. It’s not socialism or communism to prevent people from accumulating $1 billion dollars or more. Its managed capitalism at best. We don’t need squid capitalism in this country.

    7. Please realize that Tesla doesn’t even have this amount of liquidity, and Musk is no more than a husk that feeds on publicity like this. He doesn’t even “own” his own fortune that is declared. It is simply a speculative share price, which belongs to the most overrateds company in the world.

Where does Tesla get the money to pay Musk $1,000,000,000,000? Is Scrooge McDuck on the Board?

    9. People who complain about how much money he makes.

If that said person would be making the same as Elon, he would not be complaining. He would not be still advocating. You probably wouldn’t get a peep from him.

    10. I managed to make that in 4 months this year and HOLY FUCKABSBSOSODJDDOBALLS i feel so blessed in life. Tax the billionaires.

I mean the guy literally earned it through a vote. Nothing was forced. Say what you want about him but Elon is one of the few people on Earth who can blow up a rocket on Monday, fix it by Friday, and still move humanity forward. Love him or hate him, the dude knows how to change the world.

    12. There is enough real talking points to use. This is just straight propaganda. When people bring this up more knowledgeable people will make you look silly in real life and you will automatically lose credibility.

Anyone can get a pay package worth any amount of money if the appropriate metrics are hit. Satya could get a 1000000000000000000000000 dollar pay package when Microsoft reaches a 100000000000000000000000000 dollar evaluation for example. The issue is that high of an evaluation is completely unrealistic so Satya will never get his big pay package. It could be offered and approved though.

People act like Elon will get the 1 trillion dollars for sure when in reality that’s a no where near a guarantee.

    14. He gets a trillion if he can sell an absurd amount of Tesla cars within the next 10 years

Still a stupid amount of money but this is misleading

    15. He did not get this, so while the idea and full context is fucking stupid regardless, stop spreading misinformation 👍

      – Jesus was born between 4 and 6 BC, so we’ll average it to 5 BC.
      – There are 741,039 days between today (11/15/2025) and 12/25/-0005 (there is no year 0)
      – That’s $1,349,456.64 per day, or
      – $168,682 per hour for 8 hours per day, or
      – $56,227.36 per hour for *every hour since then*

Another way to think about it is that it would be more than $10k OVER the US median annual salary for every hour since Jesus was born.

    17. Imagine a world where Elon only got 1 trillion for “bragging rights”, then immediately gave every American Citizen $2900. He could use all the social security data his DOGE team stole illegally to get all of our mailing addresses.

I don’t know how such a perfect parody to sum up 2020’s USA in 1 gif was created but this has to be near the top.

And just to clarify, gif is pronounced with hard G. Like golf.

    19. To the shareholders , he’s worth every penny if he can pull of the impossible goals they laid out for him in order to receive that money . The stock goes up because of that one man

    20. Even without this package, Elon is already worth $450 billion at this point in life, way more money than most people will ever see in their lives or their entire families lives.

    21. SherbetCorrect7831 on

Is it time to boycott billionaires’ businesses until they agree to pay their fair share of taxes? Fuck Tesla fuck Starlink fuck Amazon fuck them all. Stop giving them your money!

    22. I’d argue that musk has already hit the glass ceiling of money holds no value, more money means so little to him because he can do no good with it
